Color Mixer

The innovative color mixer on the right of the preview field serves for the mix of the comparison color with the current color and is especially suited for finding harmonies between two colors.
The innovation is that with this color mixer you do not just select a gradient step between the comparison color and the current color but beyond this you can define the real portion of the comparison color in the current color. Or from another point of view, you define the transparency value of the current color above the comparison color as background.
The opaque version of the current color you can denote the origin color. Thus the user has the opportunity to select a gradient step between comparison color and origin color and gets more liberty in color adjustment.
Example: supposing that the comparison color is blue RGB(0, 0, 255) and the current color is violet RGB(128, 0, 128). The color mixer calculates immediately that violet is made of blue to the half and is semitransparent red RGB(255, 0, 0) above blue. Thus red will be the origin color of violet, if the background color is blue. Now you can select a gradient step between blue and red and have more shades of violet to choose from.
